Warm Fuzzies

So.. a good friend got engaged and I'm going to be a bridesmaid again! In March. She's started the planning this week and I'm excited to help her out.

Side note: I think most of my thinking happens during things like car drives, dog walks, or hot showers. As long as I'm not reading.. (I realize it's a bit weird to read during any of those). And I get these really great monologues that I occasionally want to post, but by the time I'm near a computer, they totally disappear. It's a little interesting.

Dear Future Friends,

I confess, I'm shy. And I'm a bit of a loner. But I can see and feel the importance of sharing, of loving, and of having relationships. It's interesting to me the little things that can instantly connect people. Both being outsiders, or both irritated at the same situation. Both having puppies, or newborns. It's amazing to me how many random conversations I get into now that I have Sully to walk. And after a friend a work became pregnant, I would talk to random pregnant women, just because that connection reminded me of my friend. And she now gets talked to a lot by new mothers.
I confess, I'm not a good conversationalist. While I'm not necessarily easily embarrassed, something bars me from asking the free following questions in my mind. Bear with me, I want to know, and I occasionally observe the questions that my friendly roommate and my mother ask others. Basically, I'm working on it :) So maybe you'll be an old friend become new. Or maybe I'll meet you in an awkward situation, like in the elevator or the bathroom where I have most of my "nice to meet you" conversations, or maybe our mutual friend hasn't introduced us yet, but just know, I'm excited..

Halfyear

How cool is it to be able to look back at your life, and see the web of events that worked together to get you where you're at now. I'm thankful for many things I didn't understand at the time, and look forward to applying blind faith now and in the future. Today I got to say a praise for having someone in my life who tries to make my dreams come true (above, at our Elf breakfast - definitely one of my dreams), who can make my heart punch against my ribs, and points me in the right direction so often. I'm a happy girl. And doesn't halfyear sound so much cooler than six months??

Confession

via
Happy new week! Confession: I actually kinda like Mondays. Drop the kinda. It feels like a fresh new slate - I rewrite my work to-do lists, (typically) feel rested from my weekend, and get to plan what it would be cool to accomplish. I like getting things started.

Gowns?

Today I watched Beauty and the Beast - not the Disney version - I watched that one last week :)
But so I occasionally wish I could enjoy the older time periods, with their daily long gowns and elaborate hair dos. Well, only briefly though.

I always liked Belle.

What's not to love?

Life can be so influenced by attitude. It's amazing how the same exact day can look when you change your perspective. Look for the simple pleasures, for the things that will turn out for the good, for the new challenges and opportunities to grow, for the ways you can be kind to others and make a difference in their days, and maybe, ultimately their lives.

Forced Rest

via

Hip Bursitis - well so my training for the half-marathon in September is on a short hiatus, but how grateful I am for just a temporary problem, and for my normal health. It's such an easy thing to take for granted, and I know I do wayy too often.

Happy July

Hot sunny days, balmy nights, the longer days make me want to both be more productive and lazy. Not a bad conflict to have though. If only those worms would stop getting fried on the sidewalk - Sully loves finding those guys.

Cheers to a sparkling weekend
