This too shall pass

 via

I realize that sometimes when I'm trying not to worry about something, I try not to think about it, and then I end up not praying about it either.

"May Jesus himself and God our Father, who reached out in love and surprised you with gifts of unending help and confidence, put a fresh heart in you, invigorate your work, enliven your speech. "
-2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 (the Message)

blessed

 via
I've really enjoyed Bible Study this weekend (talking about what treasures we should keep), visiting with my younger brother last night, and seeing my husband briefly between our work shifts (he's doing nights). Even though being sick sucks, life is really good. I feel really blessed.

2 years

We meet the people we’re supposed to when the time is just right."
— Alyson Noel (Shadowland)

Today marks two years for J and me. I'm so thankful he's in my life, and will be as long as we both shall live :)  (Thanks for dating me even though my puppy humped you, you were a little concerned about my older brother, and I took another guy's phone call during one of our hang-outs) I'm thankful to be feeling a little more like myself today than I  have in the last week. Thankful for getting stitches out today (Friday). Thankful that my husband made sure I had dinner and anything I needed all week, even though he's sick too and had a very rough work week. Baby, you rock.

Recovery

via
(Warning: This is a little gross) So, yesterday I had a sebaceous/subcutaneous cyst removed. I had it for about 4 weeks (right above my bra line on my right side) and I hated it. I'm so thankful to have it removed and for the pain to be recovery at least now. It made me think about people who chronic conditions, whose discomfort is a part of their life, and not just one month. (feel free to ask questions if you ever get anything like this) It made me thankful and learn to trust that regardless of what it was, God's will is good, acceptable and perfect. Very thankful that it's the weekend now - I'll be recovering this weekend :)

1-11

Last night I cooked dinner. And I poached/boiled chicken. Which was actually really awesome! I'm still squirm-ish with raw chicken, and that method made it much easier to deal with. Happy Hump day to all.

Two Years Ago.. our story began :)

Two years ago, almost to the hour, I re-met my future husband. We were at our friends' honoring their brother/brother in law, as he made the decision to move South for a while. We had food and played games, during which my future husband and I flirted. I mean, lightly because my brother and his wife were there. Basically, it was the start of our kinda goofy love story, and I see God's hands all over it. So thankful :)

Identity

via

In Bible Study last night, we were encouraged to think about how we spend our time, how we'd like to spend our time, how we spend our money, how we'd like to spend our money, and when we get the most irritated, angry or defensive; the point being whether whether we think that's what God would have us do, and where we get our identity from. It was interesting to think about, and to discuss with hubby once I got home.
Luke 16:13-15.

Compassion

 via
What Lily craved was the darkness made by enfolding arms, the silence which is not solitude, but compassion holding it’s breath. Edith Wharton

I've got something I'm a little nervous about today, but praying for peace :) Happy Monday to all.
