great expectations

I think I've recently had a reminder of how important it is to accept and love people as they are. We are each responsible for our own selves. While we can encourage, pray for, try to be good examples, and listen, we ultimately can't change another person. Expectations can really hurt friendships and relationships.  There's some sort of balance in accepting, yet loving enough to want the best for them.

trouble

Sometimes things just don't seem to go right. Or sometimes you don't know the answer or the way to go. Just keep praying.

"In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I called.
From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry came to his ears."
-2 Samuel 22:7

I'm looking forward to spring/summer weather, more house projects, lots of time and dates with hubby :), eating home grown vegetables, a wedding, more great marriage books (Sacred Marriage has been challenging so far), birthdays (at least 5), and I'm sure May will fly by.

April Books

Wither by Lauren DeStefano (book one of trilogy - young adult but a quick read)
Each for the Other by Bryan Chapell (My favorite marriage book yet)
The Pawprints of History by Stanley Coren (Interesting, I wish the type wasn't as small)
Fever by Lauren DeStefano
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
Before I Go To Asleep by S.J. Watson (very good, thriller, recommend)
The Landower Legacy by Victoria Holt
The Most Important Year in a Woman's Life and The Most Important Year in a Man's Life by Bobbie Wolgemuth and Susan Devries, and by Robert Wolgemuth and Mark Devries (Great reminders for what to focus on to build a good foundation)
Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier (not bad)

Hey hey Friday

Confession: I have a lot of thoughts. I'm just not very good at writing them down. I get really distracted, then I try to think of the right words, then I forget where I was going with my idea, and on. Which kinda ruins my daydream of being a writer some day. I struggle a little bit to even put together thank you notes for my boss sometimes. Ah well, I'm working on accepting who I am made to be. I'm learning through a job that doesn't seem to be the best fit, and I'm trust that someday, what I do naturally and what I've learned to do even if I'm like "What?!" the first time I try it, or seventh time, my calling will come. It's not my timeline but His.
