Happy Fall weekend! Last night I tried my first go at the crockpot (J has done it multiple times for us) and I think it went pretty well. J will be switching to night and evening shifts, but I'm looking forward to some time at home, some errands, and cozying up. We have friends staying with us tonight who I am excited to see. Hope all have a great great weekend!

Happy Mid-Week
via
I'm loving the crisp the air is starting to get! Fall is probably my favorite season. Last night we started a new book in Bible Study about freedom. I'm excited to learn more about being fully-reliant on God, leaving us free from sin and free to live out the fruits of the Spirit. With our new book, we'll be getting weekly verses that we'll try to memorize, or at least have in mind for the week. This week is:
"Therefore, since we are
surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off
everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us
run with perseverance the race marked out for us."
-Hebrews 12:1 (NIV)

Celebrating
It's our anniversary weekend! We're leaving the city and kinda playing the rest by ear :) J - you are the most amazing husband I could ever ask for. I've been praying for you since I first had the notion of a husband, and I'll continue for the rest of my life. Thank you for all your love and for putting "life" into my life :) I love you!

Take what you need

The other day on the radio (KLove), I heard "Rejoice in the suffering that brings you closer to God." I've had that plus I can do all things through Christ who strengths me and focusing up and let go and let God, running through my mind since then. And it's really made a difference! We never know what life's going to bring, and most likely it's not something we expect, but we have purpose and that changes everything!

9/11
via
I feel like 9/11 will forever be a thoughtful day. I'm enjoying reading statuses on facebook of all the people grateful for the servicemen that keep our nation safe - then, now, in between and in the future. How thankful I am to be here, to have so many brave men and women serving for us, and to be where God wants me. I was in my World Civics class at the time (half of Paidea) with Mrs. Graham trying to impress on us what was happening and what it might mean for our future. Where were you?

August Books
via
Bloom by Kelle Hampton (Really good, open and emotional. I know it's partially hormones, but I teared up and got goosebumps throughout it. Very inspiring.)
The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty (Not bad, but not amazing)
The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe (Not bad, but not amazing)
The Age of Miracles by Karen Thompson Walker (Interesting idea, and easy to read)
The House of Velvet and Glass by Katherine Howe (Not bad, but not amazing)
5 for this month. 61 for the year.
