April Books

via
Wither by Lauren DeStefano (book one of trilogy - young adult but a quick read)
Each for the Other by Bryan Chapell (My favorite marriage book yet)
The Pawprints of History by Stanley Coren (Interesting, I wish the type wasn't as small)
Fever by Lauren DeStefano
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
Before I Go To Asleep by S.J. Watson (very good, thriller, recommend)
The Landower Legacy by Victoria Holt
The Most Important Year in a Woman's Life and The Most Important Year in a Man's Life by Bobbie Wolgemuth and Susan Devries, and by Robert Wolgemuth and Mark Devries (Great reminders for what to focus on to build a good foundation)
Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier (not bad)

9 this month :) (38 for the year)

Hey hey Friday

Confession: I have a lot of thoughts. I'm just not very good at writing them down. I get really distracted, then I try to think of the right words, then I forget where I was going with my idea, and on. Which kinda ruins my daydream of being a writer some day. I struggle a little bit to even put together thank you notes for my boss sometimes. Ah well, I'm working on accepting who I am made to be. I'm learning through a job that doesn't seem to be the best fit, and I'm trust that someday, what I do naturally and what I've learned to do even if I'm like "What?!" the first time I try it, or seventh time, my calling will come. It's not my timeline but His.

Whew, after a long productive workday yesterday (carried over from the previous two days) and coming home to a clean house, dinner provided, and having my library books dropped off for me and my car filled up with gas (thanks for all of it hunny :) ), I now feel a little like I don't know what to do with myself. I guess I finally looked up from what I'm doing and trying to see what road I should be on. Happy Thursday!

5 positive morning things

1. This morning I woke up before the alarm went off and took the opportunity to walk on our treadmill.
2. Used my "special" shampoo.
3. Mixed a few coffee flavors to make my own special blend.
4. I have white and pink flowers on my desk.
5. I brought so many vegetables to work today, and I'm really excited by how good it feels to be healthy sometimes :)

What keeps your spirits up?

Happy Monday! It was a great weekend (great when J is off :) ), productive and relaxing. Looking forward to a week with opportunities to cook, hang out with hubby in the evening, another family dinner, and Bible Study.

Earthy

Happy Earth Day! This weekend I got to enjoy the bottle of wine I won - in Earth Day trivia at work :) The first one was celebrated back in 1970.

Finally Friday

via

Do you eat breakfast? I'm not sure I'd handle going without. I've almost always been a cereal person, with the occasional oatmeal. When I worked later at work, sometimes I'd make myself egg in toast, and they were incredible to enjoy. Recently, J has been making variations of bacon and eggs in the morning. I love being able to get a few bites in :)
This weekend, I'm looking forward to a bridal shower for a wedding I'm in, in August, hanging with friends and working on crafts, and having a weekend that hubby isn't working :)

Midweek

Happy mid-week :) Looking forward to seeing Bible Study girls tonight, having J off of work for a week, and using the groceries we got.
The above verse was the memory verse I had to teach St. Lucian kids on a missionary trip. We put on vacation Bible school for a few different churches, as well as a neighborhood one. I was so nervous standing in front of every one. The best day for memorizing was actually when some materials were lost and I had to improvise. Funny how things work sometimes :)

Seven/Twelvths

So we've been married for 7 months! I'm so happy :) Reading the marriage books has helped me focus on being the best wife I can be, in Christ, and so thankful for the husband that I have! I've been treated to breakfast these last two mornings when J has come home from night shifts :) I got to explore BJs last night. Thankfully I went with my mom and she was able to help guide me a little bit.
Recently it's really hit me how uneasy love is. We like to think it's natural, and maybe self-love is, but actually showing love to others, especially those that resist giving it back, is actually really hard! Just interesting.

13

Happy Friday (the 13th)!! J and my brother are taking the PE today - thinking and praying for them! It's an intense all day thing. Looking forward to watching my parents' dog Cooper (Sully and Dash love him), seeing girls tonight, hopefully getting a haircut and a few other things done. Have a great weekend :)

Back

Getting a little vacation in was so wonderful. I loved getting to know my in-laws better, get some concentrated time with my hubby, long walks on the beach, a little sun, and one of the best things, sleep. The room we stayed in had no windows and was like being a cave, therefore, long nights :) It was great to recharge and get some reflection on what we're doing (I was reading my favorite marriage book yet). Hope everyone's been having a good week!
