2010 brought many smiles :)

I felt very blessed in 2010. With my puppy, and my guy (fiance!) and with work and with growing. Our Bible reading plan has us reading in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and it's interesting to aspire to living that way :)

“Happiness does not consist in things themselves but in the relish we have of them; and a man has attained it when he enjoys what he loves and desires himself, and not what other people think lovely and desirable.”
-- La Rochefoucauld

I got the best Christmas gift

So it turned into a White Christmas for Raleigh after all, but my best Christmas gift EVER was getting engaged :) to the best man for me ever, and my best friend. I'm so excited to be together from now on :)

Jeremiah 29:11 ESV
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Happy Boxing Day

Merriest Christmas Eve

Oh I don't want a lot for Christmas
This is all I'm asking for I just want to see my baby
Standing right outside my door
Oh I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
Baby all I want for Christmas is... You

All I Want for Christmas is You

Tis the season when sparkles are socially acceptable.  The most wonderful time of the year. Full of cheer, family and friends, giving from the heart, hope for the future, the birth of salvation, warmth, and joy. There are so many reasons that Christmas can bring smiles, but above all we are triumphantly rejoicing for the Son that was given, for the grace that we don't deserve, and for eternity promised to us. We love because He loved us. I love the opportunity to show love to family and strangers alike, to be able to smile and offer a cheery greeting. I love shopping for the Christmas giving, and I almost always get the feeling after the gifts that my family knows me, and I get to think of them when I use or wear the gifts. Merry Christmas from the heart :)

From Pastor Greg of Harvest: We celebrate Christmas in order to rejoice over God's most precious gift to us. The birth of Jesus Christ is a gift from God that came in simple wrapping, as well as a gift we don't deserve. But the gift of Christ also explains His purpose for humankind...The gift of Jesus Christ is what Christmas is all about. Jesus came near to us so we could come near to Him.

Merry Eve of Christmas Eve

 via
On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love gave to me..
Twelve drummers drumming,
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three french hens,
Two turtle doves,
and A partridge in a pear tree.  :)

Lesson from a classic

"But you were always a good man of business, Jacob," faltered Scrooge, who now began to apply this to himself.
"Business!" cried the Ghost, wringing its hands again. "Mankind was my business. The common welfare was my business; charity, mercy, forbearance, and benevolence, were, all, my business. The dealings of my trade were but a drop of water in the comprehensive ocean of my business!"
-The Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens

I could use a little Christmas now

I had a great great weekend celebrating Christmas, maybe too good, as I'm having trouble enjoying work, and I'm bringing my manager a bit of a sour-puss attitude. Hopefully I'll be spreading cheer instead soon..

On the ninth day of Christmas my true love gave to me..
 Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three french hens,
Two turtle doves,
and A partridge in a pear tree.
