Do you ever think about what you'll be like when you're happy? Do you think about what you'll look like, what you'll own, what you'll be doing with your days?
Regardless of how often I try to re-orient my focus, I find myself thinking a little bit, "oh no, things aren't perfect yet.. I am not/don't have/am still doing.." I find it a little ridiculous when I catch myself. Comparing my actual life to what I expect is a great way to kill joy. I recently read a book that emphasized "Thy will be done." Throughout the book, the main character's heart and spirit changed. And that's what I want.
Thy will be done.
